Welcome to St George in The Meadows, a friendly anglo-catholic church situated in the heart of The Meadows, Nottingham. Due to the recent developments around the Coronavirus, we have issued the below statement. Our normal mass times are available at the bottom of this page but, as per the statement, they are not running at the moment and nor is the church open for any public gatherings. For your spiritual support and upbuilding, please view the daily readings from the mass. Please also follow our Facebook page on which you can also find online Stations of the Cross.
St George in the Meadows: Reopening for Public Worship
From Thursday 5th November until Wednesday 2nd December, public worship at St George’s is suspended.
St George’s will be open for private prayer on Sundays and Wednesdays, from 10am until 12 noon.
Mass will be celebrated privately every day (except Tuesdays), and whenever possible the Angelus will be rung at 12 noon, and at 6pm as a tangible sign of our participation in ‘Prayer for the Nation’.
It is our fervent hope and prayer that public worship will be allowed to resume on Thursday 3rd December. In any event, these arrangements will be reviewed and updated at that time
Please note the following:
Normal Mass Times (currently suspended)
Sundays at 11am (1 hour)
Our main act of worship each week, the Sung Mass involves excellent music, good preaching, and the full richness of the Catholic liturgical tradition, as we gather together to worship God and receive the Body and Blood of Christ at Holy Communion. The service is followed by refreshments together.
Other Mass Times
Mondays at 12 noon (30 minutes)
Wednesdays at 10am (30 minutes)
Thursdays at 7pm (30 minutes)
Fridays at 12:15pm (30 minutes)
